Appellate Practice

Representation of clients at the appellate level is one of the strengths of our firm.  Our attorneys have substantial experience in appellate practice in both Federal and State courts.  Those cases cover a broad array of legal issues in both civil and criminal cases, resulting in numerous reported decisions in which our attorneys participated in the preparation of the appellate briefs.

This practice area includes appeals of decisions of municipal Planning Boards and Boards of Adjustment on site plan, subdivision and variance applications.  These actions (known in New Jersey as actions “in lieu of prerogative writs”) are heard in the trial division of the Superior Court, and then in the Appellate Division.  Because of the depth of our municipal land use practice, our firm also has great strength in handling appeals of decisions of municipal Boards.
